    Teaching ServicePosition Information

    Gulyangarri Public School is currently under construction, adjacent to Liverpool Boys and Liverpool Girls High Schools in the Liverpool CBD. The school's name comes from Dharug language and translates to children in English. The word gulyangarri highlights the importance of children being at the centre of all that we do.

    The school is being delivered in two stages, with the first stage catering for 640 students including four support classes and a preschool for up to 40 children. The second stage will accommodate a future enrolment of up to 1200 students. Anticipated enrolment for 2024 is between 200 and 250 students, Kindergarten to Year 6.

    The school is designed to support high quality teaching and learning for students from diverse cultural, linguistic and socio-economic backgrounds. An emphasis on explicit teaching and strong character development will lay the foundation for student success. Partnerships with schools, TAFE, universities and the broader community will enrich learning for students and staff.

    Successful applicants will join the Principal, Deputy Principal and Business Manager as part of the leadership team to continue planning school establishment.

    Specific Selection Criteria

    In addition to the general selection criteria,

    Approval to teach infants and/or primary with the ability to lead and support the development of a school culture that is focused on educational excellence.

    Demonstrated capacity to create an evidence-informed professional learning culture.

    Deep understanding of culturally and linguistically diverse communities with the ability to build and leverage partnerships that strengthen and enrich student outcomes.

    Demonstrated ability to lead and manage whole school programs and initiatives while maintaining exemplary classroom practice.

    General Selection Criteria1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies Conditions
