Position Information:

Parklea Public School is a large metropolitan school located in a high socio-economic part of North Western Sydney. Parklea has 39 teaching staff with a student enrolment of 687. The school has a strong working relationship with an enthusiastic P&C, consisting of parents, caregivers and the wider community.

Selection Criteria:

Demonstrated ability to collaboratively lead, model and implement evidencebased and data driven practices, with a focus on ensuring the continuous improvement of student outcomes in literacy and numeracy.
An approachable leader with the demonstrated capacity to balance the dual role of exemplary classroom teacher with the complex responsibilities of an assistant principal, working with teachers of varying experience.
Evidence of an inspirational leadership style, with high emotional intelligence and outstanding organisation, communication and interpersonal skills to foster enhanced outcomes for all stakeholders.

General Selection Criteria:

Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6.

Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
