Position Information:


Marsden Park Public School is a community-minded primary school in The Ponds Principal Network with high expectations for student success.

The school was established in 1889 and is located in Sydney's north-west growth area.

The student population has fluctuated significantly over the last three years due to new schools opening in the surrounding areas.

There are currently 205 students with 3% identifying as having an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background. Approximately 70% of students have a non-English speaking background. Student enrolments are expected to grow significantly over the coming years as the surrounding area undergoes extensive development.

Marsden Park Public School has a proud history reflected in its agricultural and rural links. It provides opportunities in sport and the performing arts, enabling students to excel through a range of different experiences.


Selection Criteria:

In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary, demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively as part of an executive team and effectively balance the role of exemplary classroom teacher with the responsibilities of the Assistant Principal
Proven ability to build teacher capacity in the implementation of high-quality, evidence-based literacy and numeracy programs, using assessment and effective data analysis to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes

Demonstrated commitment to student wellbeing, including the social and emotional needs of students, that will enhance student engagement through a positive, inclusive school culture

An approachable and visible leader, with outstanding organisation, communication and interpersonal skills who works as part of a collaborative team to build positive, authentic relationships with the whole school community


General Selection Criteria:


  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6.
Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
