Position Information:


Preparing our students for their journey through life and providing experiences that develop the whole child is what drives our whole school community.


Kenthurst Public School has a current student enrolment of 208 students and a combination of experienced and early career teachers.

The school values its community and is focused on maintaining and building strong partnerships with staff, parents and students.

Our teachers help our students excel and bring learning to life, inspiring the imagination and creativity in every student and making classrooms fun.

The school embeds and integrates Technology, Science Engineering and Mathematics ( STEM) and Creative and Critical Thinking opportunities into teaching and learning.


As well as the academic programs, our students excel in a diverse range of programs including the creative arts, sports and many other co-curricular areas which develop each students interests and talents whilst building their confidence and self-esteem.


Selection Criteria:

In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary

  • Approval to teach infants; and primary underpinned by strong curriculum knowledge and the ability to balance exemplary classroom teaching practice with the complexities of the leadership aspects of the Assistant Principal role.
  • Proven ability to strategically and collaboratively lead data informed pedagogical change and professional learning to improve student outcomes.
  • Evidence of an approachable, highly visible, and collaborative leader with exceptional interpersonal skills, including expertise in supporting the wellbeing of all students, and building and maintaining positive relationships with staff, students and the wider school community.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cohesively as a member of the executive team to develop and implement innovative and differentiated programs which support the diverse learning needs of students.

General Selection Criteria:


  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6.
Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
