    About The Business:

Our client manages a diverse portfolio of brands, employing over 200 sales and marketing professionals in ANZ. Additionally, they offer a hybrid working model, allowing for 2 to 3 days of remote work per week.

    About The Role:

    Step into a role as a Category Manager, where you will report to the Head of Category and collaborate closely with the Innovation/NPD Manager. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the management of a specific category, driving its growth and evolution through a combination of data-driven insights, customer-focused strategies, and commercial acumen.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Data-Driven Decision-Making:
      • Analyse and leverage data from multiple sources to refine category strategies and enhance decision-making.
      • Promote a data-driven culture within the company, training stakeholders on data analysis and maintaining data security.
      • Ensure that sales, marketing, and channel strategies are supported by solid data insights.
    2. Category Management:
      • Conduct periodic and strategic reviews of the category and sub-categories to identify growth opportunities.
      • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and execute plans focusing on product development, pricing, and brand positioning.
      • Lead presentations and strategy execution at key customer events.
    3. Space Management:
      • Manage a space planning database and provide strategic recommendations based on projected category performance.
      • Utilise shopper insights to optimise the brand's presence and efficiency within customer spaces.
      • Oversee trials and the implementation of planogram improvements, supporting NPD initiatives and collaborating with brand and sales teams.

    About You:

    • Substantial commercial experience in a data-driven role, ideally within Hardware, Automotive, Consumer Goods, Retail, or FMCG sectors.
    • Previous work with major retail partners like Bunnings, Mitre 10, Coles, Woolies, Priceline or Chemist Warehouse is preferred.
    • Proven ability to manage processes and projects, influence stakeholders, and excel in a dynamic team environment.
    • Strong resilience, creativity in problem-solving, and a high level of emotional intelligence to foster positive workplace dynamics.
    • Excellent communication skills, commercial acumen, and the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment.
    • Experience in space planning is advantageous, though not required, as training can be provided.
