About the opportunity
Liverpool Hospital is recruiting for a Staff Specialist to compliment and enhance the current Mental Health Department.
The Liverpool Mental Health Medical Staff are an inclusive and collegial group.

The position involves providing the Consultation and Liaison Psychiatry Service at Liverpool Hospital. The team involves other Consultant Psychiatrist staff along with Trainees and a Clinical Nurse Consultant. The Team sits under the Clinical Director for Liverpool/Fairfield Mental Health for Medical Governance.Advanced Trainees who are expecting to gain their fellowship in the next 6 months are welcome to apply. The Liverpool Mental Health Medical Staff are an inclusive and collegial group.
What you'll be doing
Provide clinical management and treatment of patients in a SWSLHD facility under your care.
This care will be provided within the clinical privileges granted by the CE on the advice of the SWSLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee.

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible.
- Current medical practitioner, registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellow of the The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and/or other specialist recognition as provided under the Staff Specialists (State) Award.
- Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management
- Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or post graduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing selfeducation and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education/ continuing professional development
- Demonstrated ability to comply with the service objectives of a public health organisation, including the provision of services to the local community, effective utilisation of resources, and preparedness to participate in the provision of health services at an LHD level
- Preparedness to participate in a hospital, service or LHD oncall roster
- Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with other staff and practitioners and in a multidisciplinary health care team
