    Who we are looking for

    The successful applicant will have professional experience in the hospitality industry, ideally in a multi-faceted venue and preferably within high-quality and high-capacity venues. You will also have the skills and attributes to deliver high-quality events and catering requests for DPS.

    Job Specific Requirements :

  • Demonstrated relevant experience, preferably within high-quality and well-regarded Government/Institutional venues.
  • Qualifications in hospitality or equivalent relevant qualifications/experience are highly desirable.
  • A current Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate.
  • The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (Protected/Restricted) security clearance.

    Duty Statement

    Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Service Level 2 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

    1. As a member of the APH House Service Team, deliver events and catering services at Australian Parliament House through an in-house service delivery model that provides a high standard of food and beverages service across all outlets and event venues to a wide range of stakeholders. Key stakeholders include building occupants, other parliamentary departments, parliamentarians, corporate clients, vendors, professional conference organisers and the public.

    2. Working closely with House Services Supervisors and Operations Manager to develop and maintain a motivated and high performing team committed to providing a consistent, efficient, and friendly service for customers, and exceeds customer expectations.

    3. Follow service level standards and standard operating procedures to ensure delivery of food and beverage services is of a high standard and meets stakeholder needs.

    4. Ensure all enquiries, requests, and feedback, both verbal and written are responded in a professional, polite, accurate and timely manner.

    5. Have accountability for the completion of allocated tasks within required timeframes and in compliance with set procedures.

    6. Coordinate event delivery and logistics with multiple stakeholders, including:

  • Facilitate event delivery in collaboration with back of house and House Service Coordinator.
  • Gather event feedback and report it to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain knowledge of HACCP food safety program, WHS practices and contemporary hospitality trends.
  • 7. Other duties as required but not limited to:

  • Working in banquets and retail outlets when assistance is required.
  • Additional administrative duties as assigned by House Service Coordinator or Operations Manager
  • Employees of DPS are required to be able, and to be seen to be able, to provide professional advice and services to all Senators and Members without favour or prejudice.

    Salary

    Currently, the salary range for this position is $66,440 - $71,327 per annum.
