    UON is currently seeking experienced and self-motivated (HANDS ON) Electrician – Leading Hand to join our Energy team at Malaga.

    Skills & Experience

    • Australian recognised Electrical Trade certificate and Grade A State Electrical Licence.
    • Minimum of 2 years post trade experience working as team leadership or working in a similar role, preferably on Mine Sites.
    • Deep electrical system, power generation, blueprints and maintenance and repair knowledge
    • Experience in renewable energy field.
    • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines to meet AS 3000.
    • Cert IV in Management/ Leadership Training (Preferred)
    • Ability to mentor and lead a team of Electricians and apprentices.
    • Current and valid Class C driver's license

    Your main responsibilities will include:

    • Accept statutory appointment as an Electrical Leading Hand and ensure compliance with associated statutory responsibilities.
    • Assist Management in coordination and assigning personnel tasks
    • Evaluate the quality of work of team members and provide feedback to Management for reviews
    • Resolving issues between team members and elevating concerns to line manager and or HR as required
    • Supervise and coordinate regular inspections of electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
    • Supervise critical LV electrical maintenance tasks ensuring the work is completed safely and on time.
    • Assist, guide and mentor the team as required and provide hands on assistance as required.
    • Assist in work planning, scheduling and resource allocation with a focus on the weekly electrical maintenance plan.
    • Ensure employees receive adequate training and instruction to perform their work.
    • Active involvement/ participation in the company's continuous improvement programs – adopting and implementing the 5's systems to ensure minimal waste.
    • Install, maintain and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems.
    • Read technical diagrams and schematics.
    • Perform general electrical maintenance.
    • Inspect transformers and circuit breakers and other electrical components.
    • Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate of testing devices.
    • Repair and replace equipment, electrical wiring, or fixtures
