Analyst, Performance Monitoring and Development

Location - Parramatta with flexible/hybrid working

Employment type - Temporary Full-Time up to 31 December 2023 (with possibility of extension)

Salary - ($101,947 pa - $112,849pa), plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading (Clerk Grade 7/8)

Your role


To coordinate and undertake data development, analysis, interpretation and reporting that informs and enables DCJ to fulfil its service delivery objectives in line with NSW Government reform directions and legislative requirements.


What you'll do


The Performance Monitoring and Development Team provides vital and strategic performance intelligence to DCJ Executives and business areas to support them in monitoring, and achieving DCJ's strategic objectives and outcomes for our clients.

This involves working with both internal and external stakeholders to identify key performance metrics and to provide useful insights and analysis for informed decision making.


Your primary role will be to develop and provide performance reports to our internal and external clients with continuous, vital and strategic performance intelligence to support them in their decision making.


You will undertake extraction, analysis, interpretation, and reporting on data from external and internal data sets to inform service delivery planning and resource allocation, client outcomes measurement, organisational performance reporting and reform initiatives.


You will contribute to the design, development and implementation of performance measures, tools and governance processes to improve business systems/ processes and workflows and enhance organisational capability in analysing and understanding DCJ performance.


In addition, you'll provide technical support, tools, advice and skills development to district and program management staff to improve organisational capability in analysing and understanding data as well as provide proactive and evidence-based advice to the Manager and Director to ensure that business unit matters which impact current business and future decision-making are fully considered.


You'll work collaboratively with your team members towards mutual continued development and provide feedback to each other on analysis undertaken.


We work in a flexible/hybrid way environment, balancing work-from-home and from our brand new, state-of-the-art agile workspace at Parramatta Square.


What we're looking for
The Analyst requires the following in addition to role description capabilities:

  • Experience in developing performance reporting framework and reports in a human service context
  • Demonstrated experience in drawing insights through data and data analysis and presenting the results tailored to the targeted audience
  • Good oral and written communication skills to effectively engage with stakeholders to achieve outcomes
Knowledge which would be viewed favourable (but not pre-requisites)

  • Knowledge and experience using the DCJ internal client information systems and/or data warehouses in child protection, housing and homelessness
  • Understanding of Child Protection, OOHC, Earlier Intervention, Social Housing or Homelessness
  • Good project management skills and ability to develop presentations
This role also requires a Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012
