NOPSEMA (the National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority) is the regulator for Australia's offshore energy industry, overseeing the protection of Commonwealth waters.

We are seeking Regulatory Assistants to join our team and help ensure the safe operation and environmentally responsible development of offshore oil and gas, greenhouse gas storage and offshore renewable energy activities in Australian waters.


About the roles
You will be responsible for undertaking a broad range of duties which may include:

  • Providing administrative support to Heads of Division, Directors, Managers and/or Regulatory Specialists to assist the smooth operation of the business.
  • Ensuring Heads of Division, Directors and Managers are briefed and prepared for internal and external meetings and aware of timeframes and deadlines.
  • Calendar management, including managing travel and arranging workshops and events.
  • Facilitating meetings, taking minutes, coordinating follow up actions and drafting correspondence.
  • Assisting Managers and Regulatory Specialists in the administration of core regulatory processes, processing submissions, drafting, and reviewing correspondence, liaising with operators and titleholders in a timely manner, including creating electronic files, managing records, updating and managing the Regulatory Management System and updating the external website.
  • Processing operator incident notifications and actions as necessary.
  • Researching information and undertaking project work.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills, ability to meet deadlines with limited supervision, and manage multiple tasks with competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative, problem solve and react flexibly to changing priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail, ability to quality assure documents and maintain databases.
  • Experience in coordinating workshops, events and assisting with function planning.
