The National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority (NOPSEMA) is Australia's independent statutory authority and is the expert regulator of health and safety, structural integrity (including well integrity) and environmental management for all offshore energy operations and greenhouse gas storage activities in Commonwealth waters.

Working with NOPSEMA provides an opportunity to make a real difference to people working in Australia's offshore energy industry and the environment.

We are looking for experienced Investigators to join our Investigations Team at our Perth Office.

In the role of Principal Investigator, you will provide specialist investigation skills, advice and guidance to NOPSEMA with a focus on non-compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS), well integrity (WI) and environment management (EM) legislation.

You will possess a Diploma in Government (Investigation) and/or other appropriate tertiary qualifications. Your role will involve the investigation of accidents, dangerous occurrences, complaints and reportable environmental and well integrity incidents.

You will also compile briefs of evidence including submission of the briefs to the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions (CDPP) or other Prosecuting Agencies as specified by NOPSEMA and build investigation capability through the training and mentoring of NOPSEMA inspectorate staff using contemporary investigation techniques and best practice.

An understanding of the offshore petroleum industry is desirable.
