Young High School is a rural comprehensive high school located in Wiradjuri Country approximately 4 hours south west of Sydney and 2 hours from Canberra and Wagga Wagga. We have a strong focus on academic growth and developing resilience, empathy, acceptance and teamwork across the school community. The school has an enrolment of 530 students from diverse cultural backgrounds, including 13% Aboriginal students and an increasing Muslim student enrolment which is currently 8%. In addition, we have a support unit consisting of 5 support multicategorical (MC) classes.The school works closely with the local community. The school receives significant equity funding which allows for the introduction of new programs and initiatives to boost student-learning outcomes. Specific Selection Criteria

Approval to teachTechnology Mandatory (Years 7-8) and Industrial Technology-Timber.

Demonstrated ability to work as a collaborative member of the TAS faculty and contribute to developing, implementing and evaluating teaching faculty programs and resources, to increase student engagement and learning outcomes.

Proven ability of classroom management and the capacity to manage practical workspaces to ensure student safety, full participation and high levels of engagement in lessons to enhance student learning opportunities in a range of practical contexts.

Demonstrated capacity to create and maintain safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environments that support students of all abilities and backgrounds with a focus on differentiation.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
