What you'll be doing


The purpose of the NSLHD Health Contact Centre is to provide a safe, simple, reliable telephone-based 'Single Point of Access' to a range of NSLHD health services for the community and service providers across NSLHD.

NSLHD Health Contact Centre is responsible for the following:

  • Provision of Community Health Intake and Admission functions for a targeted range of community health services across NSLHD.
  • Facilitation of timely patient and service information across the care continuum to better inform decision making, service coordination and client / carer outcomes.
  • Reporting of service provider demand against service provider capacity and actively manage service wait lists where unavoidable.
  • Management of the at risk elderly and chronic care register.
outcome to the satisfaction of the referrer or client and complete the encounter requirements. The position will demonstrate a customer focused approach to service delivery.

It will be required to develop knowledge of the targeted Intake and Admission service streams to function effectively in the position.

The use of technology and the ability to move from one service request type to another is essential. The position will be located in the NSLHD health contact centre at Macquarie Hospital, North Ryde. There will be potential to work from satellite centres under agreed conditions.

  • Current AHPRA Division 1 Nurses Registration.
  • Demonstrated highly developed active listening, conflict management and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated high level of critical thinking and clinical reasoning.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work in a pressured environment, follow direction and provide leadership when required.
