    This is a wonderful opportunity to truly make a difference as a Principal Advisor, Impact & Evaluation Your primary responsibilities will be to coordinate the delivery of the monitoring and evaluation element of the Generation STEM initiative.

    You will be responsible for undertaking and coordinating monitoring and evaluation activities for several programs within the initiative, including the STEM Community Partnerships Program, Deadly in Generation STEM, and STEM Links. The focus will be on developing evaluation plans, collecting and analysing data, writing reports, and disseminating evaluation findings.

    Your role is part of a national team and will work closely with the other team members and across the CSIRO Education and Outreach business unit to generate evidence for what works in STEM education.

    Your duties will include:

    • Collaborating with the Manager for Impact and Evaluation to coordinate the delivery of the monitoring and evaluation element of the Generation STEM initiative aligned with the initiative's Impact Pathway, the overarching monitoring and evaluation methodology, and ethics and jurisdictional approvals.
    • Working with the team leads of the programs, and across CSIRO Education and Outreach, in a manner that facilitates a continuous improvement practice and enhanced delivery of project outcomes.
    • Being responsible for the qualitative and quantitative data collection, storage, and analysis processes in compliance with ethics and jurisdictional permissions.
    • Drafting of reports, case studies, and presentations for internal and external audiences within agreed timeframes.
    • Working independently within their own function and taking responsibility for resolving complex problems, requiring a high degree of knowledge of specialist activities.

    Salary: AU$102,724k - AU$111,165k plus up to 15.4% superannuation
    Tenure: Specified term until 15 December 2023, with the possibility of extension

    To be considered you will need:

    • A Relevant diploma/bachelor's or advanced degree or equivalent relevant work experience in social science, education research, or program evaluation.
    • Ability to produce high quality written materials in a timely manner as well as strong presentation and facilitation skills. Examples of written reports will need to be provided.
    • Demonstrated experience liaising with a diverse range of stakeholders to achieve objectives on time and within budget.
    • Proven involvement in qualitative and quantitative data collection, storage, and qualitative and quantitative analysis processes in compliance with ethics and jurisdictional permissions

    Eligibility
    Applications for this position are open to Australian/New Zealand Citizens, Australian Permanent Residents or you must either hold, or be able to obtain, a valid working visa for the duration of the specified term. Appointment to this role is subject to provision of a national police check and may be subject to other security/medical/character requirements.

    This role has child safety obligations. Accordingly, the successful candidate will be required to obtain or provide evidence that they hold a working with children check prior to confirmation of appointment.

    To enter a CSIRO site, CSIRO will require you to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19 (or show a valid medical exemption from vaccination). If you are unable to meet this requirement, then you must return a negative result on a Rapid Antigen Test (within 48 hours prior to attending site) and wear a face mask whilst on the CSIRO site. These requirements apply if you are attending a CSIRO site as part of a recruitment process.
