    Merrylands High School is a comprehensive coeducational secondary school (enrolment 790 students, including 72% students from a non-English speaking background).     Specific Selection Criteria

    1. Approval to teach special education and/or experience teaching students with autism, emotional disturbance, Mild intellectual disabilities and Moderate intellectual disabilities.

    2. Demonstrated ability to design and teach quality and highly differentiated educational programs and develop Personalised Learning Plans for students with a wide range of individual learning needs, developing a culture of high expectations for all students.

    3. Proven commitment and enthusiasm for ongoing professional growth and ability to work as part of a collaborative team to improve student outcomes and deliver the goals of the school's Strategic Improvement Plan.

    4. Capacity to support academic growth, including numeracy and literacy targets, for students in support classes.

    5. Strength in interpersonal skills and building relationships to work effectively with students, parents/carers, staff and outside agencies in a multi-disciplinary team, to meet the learning and wellbeing needs, goals and interests of students with a disability.

    An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
