Position Information:

Sans Souci Public School is a vibrant K-6 school located in southern Sydney in the Kogarah Principals Network.

The school has an enrolment of 560 students, including 19 Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students and a diverse population with over 70% from different language backgrounds.

Selection Criteria:

In addition to the general selection criteria,

  • Approval to teach special education and/or experience in teaching special education to improve the learning outcomes of students with autism, moderate and mild intellectual disabilities, and complex behavioural needs.
  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills to engage with, build trust and connect with a variety of stakeholders, including culturally diverse families to support the establishment of a support unit (2 x AU & 1 x AU/IO).
  • Demonstrated capacity and experience in leading teachers to develop and implement innovative and differentiated learning programs, including Personalised Learning and Support Plans, designed to improve outcomes for students across K6, with additional learning and support needs.
  • High level organisational and management skills to balance classroom teaching with complex administration and ongoing improvement, in line with Department of Education policies and procedures.
  • Empathetic leadership skills that support and seamlessly integrate with the executive team in a manner that is thoughtful, reflective, and flexible.

General Selection Criteria:


  • Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
  • Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
  • Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
  • Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
