- Making sustainable, appropriate and quality initial liability determinations for your portfolio of Work Cover claims within 28 days
- Communicating claims updates and outcomes to injured workers and employers relating to the Eligibility process
- Driving an effective investigatory process in order to make quality decision when determining initial liability for claims
- Providing a quality customer service experience for our internal and external customers
- Accurately calculating all pre-injury average weekly earnings for injured workers
- Communicating the initial decision rational to the Dispute Resolution Team to support the conciliation process
- Working together with your Team Manager, Case Managers, Technical Managers and WorkSafe staff to determine liability and review of entitlement
- Experience in a Worker's Compensation Eligibility role, Case Management role, general insurance or a similar position from a different industry (please note prior eligibility experience is not essential to your success)
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills, and the ability to prioritise your tasks
- Receptivity to continued learning and training
- Investigative and evidence-based decision-making skills

Overview
The Role
As an Eligibility Officer you will be the first point of contact in the lodgment of new Workers Compensation claims. You'll be responsible for coordinating and obtaining information from key stakeholders to determine the acceptance or rejection of claims in line with legislation.
In this fast-paced role, you'll utilize your strengths in technical knowledge and resilience to make fair and high-quality decisions for claims. You'll also be responsible for conducting investigations as necessary to ensure every decision made for new claims are of the highest quality and consideration for our customers.
