Description

We are seeking an experienced Optical Mechanic/Fitter for our busy ZEISS Adelaide branch.

Reporting to the Lab Operations Manager, you will be responsible for providing a consistent quality product which can be delivered to the customer within expected time frames, meeting all quality standards.

The key responsibilities for this position include:_
Cutting and fitting of ophthalmic lenses to all styles of spectacle frames including rimless frames
Monitor equipment and processes, completing shop floor maintenance programs as requested
Carry out equipment calibrations in accordance with plant and quality requirements
Making precision optical parts
Where required the manufacture of ophthalmic lenses
Willingness to learn new skills and ability to cross train into various related departments and embrace ZEISS values
Willingness to contribute to staff skill upgrade programs using your experience to upgrade the overall skill base of the organisation
Assist in providing customer solutions in specialty lens sourcing situations
Work in partnership with Lab Manager and team members to meet company targets and address any customer issues
A qualified Optical Mechanic or experienced lens fitter
Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience within an Optical Laboratory fitting environment, including rimless fitting and tinting
High attention to detail, precision and commitment to quality finish
Strong team skills with the ability to communicate and work within a team environment to meet customer needs and deadlines with a cando attitude
Ability to work without supervision but also part of a team
Ability to follow procedures, be able to adapt to change and be flexible
Punctuality and reliability
