The Role

Duties and Responsibilities


The EA will work alongside the divisional EAs/EO and Branch Directors to provide advice and assistance to internal and external stakeholders support the broader priorities of the Division.


  • Manage diaries and anticipate requirements for meetings, ensuring briefing materials are prepared, including Senate Estimates, and undertake secretariat functions when required.
  • Managing branch coordination activities and assisting with workflow management, ensuring tasks are completed, deadlines are met, with the right level of priority placed on them.
  • Communicate effectively with sound written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understand the role and functions of the branch and understand of how these relate to the Department's goals and priorities.
  • Provide backup and support to other support staff in the Division.
  • Preparing minor correspondence, minutes and other written material as directed.
  • Administering procurement activities and payment of invoices as directed.
  • Book and manage travel.
  • Maintain accurate records, adhering to DEWR systems and clearance processes.
  • Manage the Branch workload and forward plan, including numerous coordination tasks.
  • Aiding the branch with accommodation/property needs, committees, branch meetings or events and liaison with internal and external service providers to ensure issues are quickly resolved.
  • Support a culture of collaboration and positivity across the branch.

Qualifications and Education

Essential:
Customer service or administrative experience
