The Role
The Environmental Division operates a modern laboratory in
Brisbane (Stafford) that is equipped with the latest in analytical technology.

We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to become a part of a team that strives to exceed client expectations by delivering quality results on time and by maintaining strong relationships with their clients.

This opportunity is a
full-time afternoon shift (2.15pm to 10.15pm) position working within our Inorganics department. Please indicate your ability to fulfill this afternoon shift in your cover letter.

The day to day

Preparation and analysis of soil, water, and sediment weighing, digesting, titrating, or solvent extraction of samples
Ensuring that preparation and analytical procedures and associated tasks are conducted in accordance with ALS Quality Work Instructions
Organising designated tasks to maximise daily efficiencies
Completing all tasks within both the timeframe set by the Supervisor and the relevant analysis standard
Highlighting anomalies in results and sample type/behaviour

The Essentials

A genuine interest in the Science industry
Either TAFE or University qualifications desirable but not essential
A desire to work in a highthroughput, clientfocused environment, with preference given to those with previous commercial laboratory experience
A keen interest or personal hobby in computer building, circuitry, Excel macros and/or 3D printing would be advantageous
Coding or programming skills would be desirable but not essential
Excellent attention to detail, organisational and time management skills
Dedication to good laboratory practices with regard to quality of results and health and safety
Flexibility to work public holidays and weekend shifts if required
Willingness to be cross trained in other sections of the laboratory
Dedication to go the extra mile, be solutions driven and ensure there is no compromise on quality
