The Role
The Environmental Division operates a modern laboratory in
Brisbane (Stafford) that is equipped with the latest in analytical technology.

We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to become a part of a team that strives to exceed client expectations by delivering quality results on time and by maintaining strong relationships with their clients.

This opportunity is a
full-time afternoon shift (2.15pm to 10.15pm) position working within our Inorganics department. Please indicate your ability to fulfill this afternoon shift in your cover letter.


The day to day

  • Preparation and analysis of soil, water, and sediment weighing, digesting, titrating, or solvent extraction of samples
  • Ensuring that preparation and analytical procedures and associated tasks are conducted in accordance with ALS Quality Work Instructions
  • Organising designated tasks to maximise daily efficiencies
  • Completing all tasks within both the timeframe set by the Supervisor and the relevant analysis standard
  • Highlighting anomalies in results and sample type/behaviour

The Essentials

  • A genuine interest in the Science industry
  • Either TAFE or University qualifications desirable but not essential
  • A desire to work in a highthroughput, clientfocused environment, with preference given to those with previous commercial laboratory experience
  • A keen interest or personal hobby in computer building, circuitry, Excel macros and/or 3D printing would be advantageous
  • Coding or programming skills would be desirable but not essential
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisational and time management skills
  • Dedication to good laboratory practices with regard to quality of results and health and safety
  • Flexibility to work public holidays and weekend shifts if required
  • Willingness to be cross trained in other sections of the laboratory
  • Dedication to go the extra mile, be solutions driven and ensure there is no compromise on quality
