Where you will be based


The Centre for Education and Workforce Development (CEWD) is the education and training service for Sydney Local Health District (SLHD).

CEWD offers over 300 courses per year and has a comprehensive range of both clinical and non-clinical courses and programs using technology to improve access to professional development and to provide high fidelity learning environments.

We are a delivery site of the NSW Health RTO which means that we can offer our staff Nationally Recognised qualifications.


The position will initially be based at Sydney Education, Sydney Olympic Park then move to Rozelle at the end of 2024.


About the role
Sydney Education is the education and training service for SLHD. Sydney Education provides a wide range of development opportunities to both the clinical and non-clinical workforce.


Some broad portfolios include:
clinical placements, orientation, traineeships, management and leadership, corporate skills and clinical skills including teaching through simulation.

Sydney Education is also a major delivery site of the NSW Health RTO and provide a wide range of nationally recognised vocational education and training programs and qualifications.

The Sydney Education Support Services Team is responsible for providing a comprehensive range of administrative functions to support the delivery of education and training across SLHD.


We are looking for someone who

  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong customer service ethics and interpersonal skills.
  • Has an ability to plan, organise and prioritise own work and time manage allocated tasks in a timely and accurate manner with mínimal supervision in a demanding environment.

About working for SLHD

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
