    This classroom teaching position, Special Education, is at Sarah Redfern Public School which is situated in Minto. This is a P-6 school with a total enrolment of 427 students including a preschool for 80 children, 16 mainstream classes and five support classes: IM, IO, IO/AU, and two MC classes. We are enriched with a diverse school community, including 7% Aboriginal and 75% EAL/D.

    Our highly qualified and dedicated teaching and non-teaching staff work together to create an inclusive learning environment that truly embodies our school motto, 'It takes a village to raise a child'. The growing and changing community embraces the learning needs of all students and provides a broad curriculum that values high standards in education and personal growth.

    We are seeking a motivated and passionate educator to teach in our Support Unit classes. You will be supported by a team of professional educators to create a learning environment that tailors to the individual needs of students through evidence informed best practice.

    Specific Selection Criteria
  • Approval to teach special education and/ or experience teaching students with Autism.
  • Expertise in developing, implementing and monitoring quality Personalised Learning and Support Plans.
  • Proven capacity to deliver innovative learning programs for students with a range of support needs in an inclusive environment.
  • Demonstrated management skills that support the behavioural, social, sensory and wellbeing needs of a diverse range of students.
