About This Opportunity


Reporting to the Director of Marketing, Communications and Engagement, the Communications Specialist is responsible for creating and delivering an exceptional communication program to enhance the College's engagement with its stakeholders.

The incumbent will produce timely, accurate and compelling content through a variety of physical and digital channels to enhance the narrative of the College and contribute to the College's success, and especially its relationship with its stakeholders.


The position requires an efficient, organised and enthusiastic person with exceptional written and oral communication skills, combined with a strong sense of community and customer service, and commitment to premium levels of service delivery and presentation within a fast-paced environment.


Professional Responsibilities

  • Communications
  • Write, edit and develop content for College publications and communication channels
  • Project manage the production of the items above, maintaining appropriate inventory levels
  • Work with external graphic designers and other suppliers to produce digital and physical assets which align with the College's style and brand values
  • Brand Management
  • Curate and manage appropriate stocks of all Clayfield College brand and promotional assets
  • Media Relations
  • Craft engaging and positive stories for a variety of external media channels (print and electronic) to enhance the College's reputation in key audiences, and sustain a positive narrative in public forums
  • Social Media
  • Manage the College's social media channels through the creation and posting of engaging and timely content for key audiences.

Desired Skills and Experience:


Mandatory Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in a related field of study eg Marketing, Hospitality, Events Management.
  • Hold or ability and willing to obtain a Working with Children Blue Card
  • Compliance with the QLD Health Direction and the PMSA's COVID Vaccination Policy.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills required

  • Demonstrated experience in high level communications project management, including planning, delivery and evaluation
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills and exceptional attention to detail and quality.
  • Highly developed skills in time management, project planning and managing workflows in an environment of multiple competing priorities.
  • Advanced ICT skills in the MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and marketing platforms. including web CMS (Digistorm platforms an advantage) and Social Media.
  • Basic skills in graphic design (Adobe Creative Suite) are desirable.
