Position Overview


The role of Primary School Sport Coordinator is fundamental to the development of the Andrews Cup and Britton Shield Sports Programs focusing on student engagement, development and skill acquisition.


As the delegated Coordinator of Primary Sport in the College, the coordinator is responsible to the Head of Sport and Activities.

The primary aim will be to provide quality experiences and pathways for students.


Professional Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with the Head of Sport and Activities to coordinate the Primary Sports Program
  • Andrews Cup and Britton Shield.
  • Manage school teams at Andrews Cup and Britton Shield carnivals when scheduled by the associations.
  • Represent the college at Andrews Cup and Britton Shield meetings and network days.
  • Coordinate interhouse sporting carnivals within the Primary School.
  • Manage school sport including external providers in collaboration with the Head of Sport and Activities.
  • Manage budget and grants in collaboration with the Head of Sport and Activities.
  • Attend training sessions as required to oversee training/coaching prescription.
  • Equipment reconciliation, storage, stock take and ordering with Head of Sport and Activities.
  • Manage and coordinate trials for sporting teams and events.
  • Manage and order trophies, medals, and ribbons.
  • Write articles and information pieces for the Collective and Collegian.
  • Organise and run Primary Sport Assemblies.
  • Manage Primary Sports Awards.
  • Coordinates and organises camps and clinics and promote Andrews Cup and Britton Shield programs as appropriate.
  • Hires, supervises, and monitors the performance of Primary Sport coaches.

  • Previous experience in a similar role with coordinating programs in schools, clubs or academy will be highly regarded.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with staff, school administration, private sector officials, parents and community.
  • Strong written and verbal skills to communicate professionally with others, with an emphasis on building and maintaining quality relationships with all members of the College's community.
  • Excellent organisational and management skills.
  • Works well in at team environment.
  • Understanding of mentoring supporting and encouraging players.
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt and operate effectively in a demanding and changing environment.
  • Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card or be willing to obtain one.
