About the role:

We have a 2 year Fixed-term opportunity available for a **Principal Senior Planner

  • Integrated Water Cycle Planning** to lead water source and water quality asset investment planning for regional Western Australia. You will report to the Manager
  • Integrated Water Cycle Planning (North). This team identifies the longterm water and wastewater infrastructure for the regional schemes as required to meet future challenges while balancing the technical, financial, social, and environmental aspects.
You'll be based in Leederville. It's a lively suburb, 5 minutes from Perth's CBD. There's plenty of places to eat and hang out, and you're only 5-minutes away from the nearest train station - An easy commute when you're heading into the office


What the role will involve:


  • Provide expertise and highlevel specialist advice to the business relating to water source and water quality planning and engineering, including techniques, standards and processes
  • Provide technical leadership in the development and implementation of processes to ensure and improve water source and water quality planning and engineering across the business
  • Lead the development and evaluation of water source, treatment and disposal option to achieve required business outcomes
  • Manage project teams to address complex integrated water cycle management planning problems and technical innovation as required
  • Review the technical content of Asset Investment Planning products, to deliver required business outcomes.
  • Provide technical leadership to improve riskbased asset management decision making processes for scheme water planning across the business
  • Collaborate with Section Managers to provide technical mentoring of people and inform competency framework on skills requirements to ensure work programs delivers required business outcomes

Key skills and experience:


  • Degree level qualification in a relevant Engineering or Science discipline
  • Substantial experience in a similar or related role essential
  • Experience in water source planning, groundwater processes, treatment and recycling or water efficiency would also be highly regarded
  • Experience of developing innovative solutions and contributing to strategic planning within the water sector
  • Experience of working with and influencing senior management and regulators
