Institutional Banking Services supports the Westpac Institutional Bank (WIB) and we pride ourselves on being a business unit that is equipped to meet the ever-changing needs of the market, while remaining committed to our different customers, stakeholders, and products.
Financial Markets & Treasury Operations is managed through its Central Hub in Sydney utilising a 24 hour follow the sun model.
The broader business is responsible for processing and settlement of Financial Markets transactions, including Securities, FX & Interest Rate Derivatives.
The Securities Operations team provide product settlement and clearing for European & Domestic Bonds, Money Market products/deposits and Treasury processing.
The key focus of this role is to create and maintain a business unit that is focussed on increasing customer satisfaction, developing a high performing and skilled workforce and cost-efficient business practices.
The role operates in accordance with Compliance & Privacy requirements and manages operational risk effectivelySome key responsibilities include:
Daily Operational processing ensuring that all payment, confirmation, reconciliation, and investigation obligations have been met and that customer service levels are maintained at the highest level.
Responsible for owning the investigation and providing a resolution to both internal and external clients.
Work closely with Manager to ensure the following occurs daily:
appropriate workflow planning & monitoring; scheduling of resources; operational risk management and situation management.
Ensure Supervisor-specific checklist is completed accurately/timely and ensure all Officers have completed their checklists and associated functions daily.
Work closely with shift peers to ensure appropriate daily handover of work shifts to ensure seamless transition between shifts and effective running of the 24hour global operation.
Act as the first point of escalation for the team and business partners and work closely with the Manager to ensure effective oversight and communication of critical BAU issuesProactively partner with Trading, Sales Desks and Relationship Managers to achieve the best outcomes for our customers.
