    Work type: Part-time position (.6FTE)
    Location: Hobart, Tasmania
    Salary: $107,900 to $112,800 per year (pro rata), with the option for salary packaging.

    MND Victoria, in collaboration with MND Tasmania, offers specialized information, guidance, and support services to individuals affected by motor neurone disease (MND) in Tasmania.

    We are proud to have a dedicated team of 23 MND Advisors & Support Coordinators who provide assistance to MND patients in Victoria and Tasmania.

    We are looking for an experienced healthcare professional, preferably with a background in occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech therapy, social work, or nursing, to work closely with individuals affected by MND to:

    • Offer advice and support to MND patients, their families, caregivers, and associates
    • Provide support coordination for NDIS participants
    • Develop, refer, and negotiate services on behalf of MND patients
    • Advocate for the needs of MND patients with NDIA, Disability Services, My Aged Care, service providers, and funded agencies

    The ideal candidates will possess:

    • Experience in assisting individuals with progressive degenerative neurological conditions
    • Comprehensive knowledge of support and care planning, assessment, and referral within the disability and aged care sectors
    • A proactive attitude with a demonstrated focus on client-centered approaches

    Half of the MND patients supported by MND Victoria are below 65 years old, primarily receiving assistance through the NDIS, while the other half are over 65, hence reliant on My Aged Care for support. This diversity adds richness to our work.

    We require the successful candidate to have prior experience working with individuals affected by progressive degenerative neurological disorders, although substantial training on Motor Neurone Disease itself is available.
