Hobart Private Hospital is seeking experienced Registered Nurses for our After Hours Hospital Coordinator role.

The After Hours Hospital Coordinator is a pivotal member of the health care team and is responsible for providing leadership in the afterhours management of the hospital.


Hobart Private Hospital is a fully accredited facility with 146 beds co-located with the Royal Hobart Hospital in the heart of the city.

Hobart Private Hospital provides Emergency Services, Angiography and Cardiac Services, Maternity, Medical, Surgical, Day Surgery and Endoscopy.


As an After Hours Hospital Coordinator your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervise safe, quality care that meets current best practice standards
  • Support and liaise with the respective Clinical Nurses of wards and departments
  • Ensure all areas are staffed appropriately and cost efficient
  • Manage patient flow, coordinate and plan operational processes, working within the budget direction of the hospital
  • Coordinate patient admissions
  • Support the hospital's commitment to quality improvement and achievement of National Safety & Quality Healthcare Standards
  • Maintain the safety of staff, patients and visitors

Essential Criteria:


  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA Registration with at least 5 years experience
  • Demonstrated experience with the coordination and allocation of staff
  • Ability to manage multi tasks and coordinate resources appropriately
  • High degree of computer literacy including MS Office
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated management and leadership skills

Desirable Criteria:


  • Completion or working towards post graduate qualification in management
  • Recent management experience at Nurse Unit Manager or Hospital Coordinator level
