Making a difference in your role

The RaboResearch team for Australia and New Zealand has an opportunity for you to make a difference using your analytical and communication skills and knowledge of the food and agribusiness sector.

We are looking for a Commodity Analyst to analyse the local and global markets for sugar, and support the bank and its rural and corporate clients in their short and long term strategic decision making.

Preferably based in Sydney, the Analyst will be required to:

Undertake high quality market research and industry analysis of the sugar sector for use by both internal and external stakeholders
Engage in the global sugar sector team of RaboResearch and actively contribute to the delivery of global research and analysis
Prepare quality research publications including reports, podcasts and videos that will assist rural and corporate clients, especially in Australia and SE Asia
Be the expert for assigned research areas by delivering presentations at seminars, client functions, industry conferences, field days and corporate meetings
Collaborate closely with Rabobank's Australian and global banking team to identify commercial opportunities within the target sectors for Rabobank in rural and corporate banking
Become a respected knowledge provider by engaging in media commentary for papers, journals, radio and TV on key issues relating to the target sectors
Provide research input into credit policies and proposals covering the target sectors, and provide presentations to management and credit analysts as required
Undertake high quality research and analysis of tree nut and fruit sectors when required.

For the role, you will need

An inquisitive mind,
An understanding of the sugar sector and/or agricultural systems and markets,
Experience in analysing commodity markets and/or industries,
Capacity to develop knowledge on, and analyse tree nut and fruit sectors when required,
Willingness to engage collaboratively with local and global colleagues to deliver impactful insights to our clients,
Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills,
To work with large sets of data and to derive clear messages based on analysis, and
Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills along with welldeveloped written and verbal communication skills
