Our well-known WA Mining client is looking for an experienced and dynamic Technician to join them in a FIFO capacity working at one of their remote locations in WA.

With excellent oral and written communication skills the successful applicant will be required to provide onsite support to new technology / equipment within areas of automation, wireless communications, and remote-control units


Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to engineering staff, management staff, and operations.
  • Coordinate and oversee breakdown activities for Automated Drill, Wireless Communications, future rollout of G&I products, and provide support to our primary contractors for breakdown activities.
  • Diagnose and repair all automation related equipment.
  • Assist engineering staff in the management and commissioning of projects to achieve optimal reliability, availability, and the required levels of performance.
  • To function as the primary point of contact to Operations (Particularly after hours), for the coordination of unplanned repairs or the communication of related information.
  • Provide onsite operational support for Mine Automation systems
  • Provide feedback and analysis of trials / equipment to relevant development groups
  • Auto sparky background
  • E&I diagnosis, maintenance, and commission experience
  • Wireless communication understanding
With a primary function to provide technical support, diagnose, repair and coordinate the escalation of unscheduled repairs, applicants must have an Electro-Mechanical Aptitude with commercial experience in electronics and be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Practical experience designing simple diagnostics experiments
  • Practical experience with diagnostics instruments such as DMMs, DSOs, etc
  • A general understanding of common terminology of the 802.3 Ethernet protocol
  • Knowledge of wireless Access Point and mobile device computer configurations.
  • Solid working knowledge of UNIX or Linux operating system including simple administration
  • Practical experience with principles of sensors and sensor logic and data acquisition
  • Practical experience using serial communications busses
  • Demonstrated FIFO remote site experience and mining experience
