- Act as the initial point of contact in the provision of accurate, high quality advice and coaching on matters concerned with policy and procedures, interpret and apply relevant industrial framework including the Industrial Relations Act (Qld) 2016, Queensland state awards and collective agreements.
- Provide proactive support and high-quality advice in all aspects of employee relation case management, coaching supervisors and managers in managing underperformance, misconduct, staff complaints and health related matters, involving the Senior People and Culture Business Partner as required.
- Assist the Senior People and Culture Business Partner in designing and implementing approaches to improve organisational, operational and people strategies addressing specific business imperatives that positively impact operational performance.
- Support effective organisational change initiatives in partnership with business leaders.
- Educate and influence stakeholders with regard to the implementation of consistent HR practices on all matters which reflect the People and Culture strategy, framework, policies, procedures, collective agreements and the current industrial framework, to deliver equity across the client site.
- Work collaboratively with sections and teams to ensure a consistent approach in service delivery and people related activities are linked to strategic business outcomes; including leading strategies to address critical roles, succession planning, workforce diversity, workforce strategies and composition.
- Design and deliver training, leadership development and other opportunities which build capability, skills and knowledge internally, with a focus on building and retaining a highly skilled workforce.
- Proactively provide analysis and make recommendations on management information reports and metrics which inform sections and teams on their performance against the people and culture strategy.
- Contribute to strategic decision making within the People and Culture section maintaining currency of professional knowledge, applying business acumen and fiscal responsibility when discussing strategies and operationalising plans within sections and teams.
- Demonstrated experience role modelling a positive safety culture and adherence to the Health Safety Management Systems through visible leadership and exercising due diligence and management of compliance and legislative obligations.
- Qualifications to a Bachelor level in Human Resources, Business, Law or similar relevant qualification/equivalent knowledge or experience.
- Proven experience (4+ years) in a HR/ER Business Partnering role within a diverse multi-disciplined organisation.
- Knowledge of contemporary human resource management practices, interpretation of legislation and industrial instruments and demonstrated ability to apply these to a broad range of HR issues in a complex environment.
- Proven ability to educate, influence, coach, mentor and forge strong stakeholder relationships based on the provision of informed, sound advice that builds an environment of trust and respect.
- ER Case management experience (including non work related injuries) including utilising systems to record and track cases.
- Experience in interpreting awards and position descriptions for the evaluation of roles.
- Demonstrated exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills which effectively deliver strategic advice to a broad customer group.
- Demonstrated personal resilience and self-awareness combined with business and financial acumen.
- Demonstrated ability to model the highest standard of ethical and professional behaviour and act with integrity and confidentiality whilst representing the client internally and externally.
- Demonstrated ability to use HRIS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Suite of applications. Experience in developing/enhancing HRIS systems to drive business improvements.
