    Description

    ABOUT THE COMPANY
    Our client is a Small freight forwarder with a real family feel, with the head office based in Melbourne. A market leader within their chosen area of expertise has a national footprint. Strong networks make this wholesale and retail provider competitive in all import and export markets.

    ABOUT THE ROLE
    An Import Operations handling sea freight and airfreight (when required), working within a tight-knit team. Working on Cargowise1, the role will focus on registering, answering phones, email management, liaising with the off-shore team, and document chasing with some customer interaction. This role will see the suitable candidate cross-trained in all aspects of Import Operations.

    DUTIES

    • Follow-up on missing documents from shippers, agents, and local clients

    • Ensure accurate registration of import sea and airfreight (when required) files into the operating systems by the off-shore team

    • Shipment files are passed onto Customs and Transport complete and on time

    • Answer phone calls and direct as required

    SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    • 1+ years minimum experience in a freight forwarding team

    • Previous experience dealing directly with clients

    • Exposure to working in a team environment

    • Knowledge of Cargowise1 is preferred
