About The Role:
Mobile Support Worker in the South East/Eastern Suburbs

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our organisation.

As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, helping them lead fulfilling and independent lives.

Your role will involve assisting with daily activities, promoting social inclusion, and ensuring the overall well-being and quality of life for individuals with disabilities.

This position offers flexible working hours based on the needs of the organisation and the individuals you support.


Responsibilities:


Personalised Care and Support:
Provide individualised support to individuals with disabilities based on their specific needs, abilities, and goals. Assist with personal care tasks when necessary such as dressing, bathing, grooming, and toiling. Support individuals in managing medication, mobility, and other daily activities.

Emotional and Social Support:
Foster a supportive and inclusive environment, promoting the emotional well-being of individuals with disabilities. Engage in meaningful conversations, actively listen, and provide companionship. Encourage social interactions and assist in facilitating community integration.

Daily Living Assistance:
Assist individuals in maintaining a clean and organized living space. Support with meal planning, preparation, and feeding if necessary. Provide assistance with household chores, including cleaning, laundry, and shopping.

Health Monitoring:

Observe and report any changes in an individual's physical or mental health to the appropriate healthcare professionals or management.

Follow established protocols for emergencies and respond effectively to any critical situations.

Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of activities, progress, and incidents related to individuals under your care. Prepare and submit reports as required, documenting any significant developments or concerns.

Team Collaboration:

Work collaboratively with other members of the support team, including healthcare professionals, therapists, and family members, to ensure coordinated care and consistency in support plans.

Attend team meetings, contribute ideas, and provide input for the improvement of services.

Compliance and Safety:
Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and legal requirements related to disability support and care. Maintain a safe environment for individuals by following established safety guidelines and practices.


Qualifications and Skills:


  • High school pass or equivalent (relevant certifications or training in disability support are a plus).
  • Previous experience working in disability support or a related field is desirable.
  • Having an exercise based background is desirable.
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and sensitivity towards individuals with disabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to adapt to different situations.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety protocols.
  • Reliable and punctual, with the ability to be flexible in working hours.
  • Valid driver's license and car with valid insurance.

Job Types:
Part-time, Casual


Pay:
$ $54.13 per hour


Expected hours:
No more than 50 per week
