NEC is looking for a Systems Engineer (Storage) to provide professional support and maintenance processes for Midrange Storage support services.

You will provide detailed technical guidance to operational teams for problems, critical environmental issues and Storage environment design faults.

Your Responsibilities:
Design management and provisioning of storage across Net App and EMC Power MAX systems to support database and virtualization solutions;
Resolution, troubleshooting and root cause analysis for storage-based issues within all production and non-production environments;
Centralized configuration and capacity management for all storage arrays across the environment;
Maintain and update technology documentation;
Manage and handle escalation for major incidents to the Team Leader and/or Major Incident Management team (SRMs);
Run and distribute defined system management reports; and
Develop and mentor staff

Your qualifications and experience:
Minimum 5 years of relevant technical experience in Storage design and engineering;
Additional experience with Storage Vendors (EMC, Net App);
IT degree or equivalent, Net App, Commvault, EMC, VMware certification;
Strong understanding of NAS, Data ONTAP and SAN environments;
Experience with Net App storage System integration (CIFS\NTFS permissions) within Active Directory infrastructure;
Experience with Net App FC and i SCSI storage for VMWare v Sphere and Microsoft Exchange/SQL;
Understanding of WAN/LAN/SAN (fc) constraints related to centralized storage in virtualized environment (Cisco UCS);
Ability to transform storage architecture requirements to working solutions
Strong communication skills and demonstrated technical leadership.
Thorough knowledge of storage deployment, configuration, monitoring and maintenance technologies;
Knowledge of Backup & Archiving Solutions using Simpana Commvault
Excellence in team working including across virtual and multi-location teams;
Flexibility in approach to work and adaptability to changing conditions
