About the role


Positions have become available for Allied Health Assistants to deliver a high quality patient, carer and family experience within the boundaries of Occupational Therapy services at Cabrini Malvern/Brighton.

The position is responsible for the provision of clinical and administrative support to clinicians in the Allied Health Service.


The Occupational Therapy department is committed to providing high quality, patient centred and evidence based services within a supportive environment.


The Occupational Therapy team provides services to our acute care, rehabilitation and palliative care hospitals as well as to our extensive suite of ambulatory services.

About you

Along with your knowledge and understanding of client care specific to Occupational Therapy, you will have the following:

  • Certificate IV Allied Health Assistant
  • Two years experience working in a similar industry role desirable
  • Experience facilitating Occupational Therapy groups
  • Knowledge of the importance of and ability to seek evidence-based practice
  • Knowledge of the importance of consultation and communication with respect to patient care
  • Understanding of professional standards of practice, accountability and the ability to accept professional supervision
  • An understanding of the operation and functioning of a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated ability to develop rapport with patients, residents, carers and family
  • Demonstrated ability to perform effectively under pressure and to prioritize workloads
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

Cabrini is a healthcare provider that is captured by the COVID-19 and seasonal influenza vaccination requirements released by the Victorian government.

It is a condition of employment that all staff receive the required vaccines, unless they have a relevant medical exemption.

Vaccination evidence or evidence of a medical contraindication must be provided prior to commencement.

As per Cabrini policy, a mandatory copy of a current (under 12 months) police record check must be provided prior to the commencement date.
