The role

The Safety Coordinator will work within the Infrastructure Safety Team, reporting to the Safety Manager.

You will ensure compliance with relevant legislation, occupation specific improvement initiatives, and provide coaching and mentoring to employees in their obligations and responsibilities under relevant legislation and Metro policies.


The role includes a requirement to work night shift one week (4 consecutive nights only) in every month where you will get to advise on our EWNO (Early Week Night Occupations) works providing quality safety advice.


About you:

  • Experience in Rail Operations, Utilities, Construction, or other highrisk environments.
  • Certificate IV or higher in Workplace Health and Safety or related field.
  • You will have proven knowledge and experience of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing safety management systems and continual improvement.
  • Knowledge of Personnel Policy and Practices and the Code of behaviour.
  • Extensive knowledge of a trade would be advantageous to effectively partner with the Infrastructure Delivery team and understand the risks involved in the work in which they do.
