About the Role

The clinical lead will be responsible for the clinical leadership of three teams (Newcastle Cannabis Clinic, Stimulant Treatment Program and Community Counsellors) on a day to day basis as well as holding a small case load.

You will be supporting staff in intakes, clinical reviews, case load reviews, be available for complex case consultation and also support staff in skill development.

You will also provide supervision to other DACS staff and to psychology Masters students on placement. This role will be supported by the line manager, District Allied Health lead and Senior nurse manager. There are opportunities for professional development including education and training opportunities. You will also have access to clinical supervision.


The successful applicant will need to be client centred with experience in providing evidence based treatment and also supporting other staff in this provision.

You will have great time management and problem solving skills and be able to review processes and develop strategies for improvements.


Where you'll be working
The clinical lead will be located at James Fletcher Hospital, close to Newcastle Beach.

You will be located with two of the teams you are leading the Newcastle Cannabis Clinic and Stimulant Treatment Program while the community counselling team is located at different sites across Greater Newcastle.

The teams consist of clinical psychologists, psychologists, counsellors and nurse counsellors.

The teams are also supported medically and by the District Allied Health Lead and the Senior nurse manager as well as your line manager.
