What you will doAs our Manager, Operations, you will: - Lead the operational implementation, particularly in quality deliverables, performance measures, evidence-based risk assessment, resource prioritisation and stakeholder focus for the Program. Plan, organise, direct, and evaluate operational field work consistent with annual Program plans, goals and priorities. Manage workforce performance and provide accurate reporting and advice on operational resources and activities to ensure accountable public service administration. Develop and review operational policies and procedures to ensure scientific and legislative requirements are met with a scientific and community focus. Establish regular communications, performance reviews and resource assessment to manage the workforce and major contracts for the Operational activities of the Program. Identify, monitor, assess and report on operational risks and issues, recommending practical solutions to mitigate impacts on Program delivery. Conduct process reviews to redesign the business to meet scientific, cost efficient and practical operational delivery. Manage major procurement contracts for the delivery of operational activities. Provide specialist, high level advice to the Director on fire ant operational risk management, operational efficiency, performance, and policy development to address the identified issues. Oversee and manage the delivery of major projects and new initiatives associated with the operational delivery of the Program. Ensure that appropriate policy and risk management frameworks are in place to effectively manage the prevention and review of WHS and HR issues. Work with the Program Management Team to build an effective organisation and foster a work environment that values individual and team performance and continuous improvement and innovation of the operations.
What you will bringMandatory requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle, and an appropriate licence endorsement to operate this type of vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided before commencement of duty.

  • While not mandatory, a relevant qualification from a recognised tertiary institution, would be well regarded.
