Our Federal Government Client is looking for a
Technical Test Architect/Manager to lead a team to design, document, run and analyse appropriate tests based on the functional requirements identified by stakeholders, ensuring priorities are met and resources are managed appropriately.


This is a
12-month contract with possible 2x12 month contract extension options, open to
Australian citizens with active AGSVA Baseline security clearance.

The preference is for successful applicants to work from the Canberra office for a minimum of 3 days per week.

Remote/flexible work arrangements can be discussed with the specified personnel's manager upon commencement.


Role Description

  • Develop, maintain and/or enhance the automation framework(s)
  • Plan and estimate the test automation approach and effort for new projects/systems
  • Configure continuous integration jobs and related scripts for overall test scenario orchestration, scheduling and reporting of automated test runs for multiple targeted environments
  • Develop extensive, reusable test automation suite using the department's tools (i.e. TOSCA, inhouse test automation framework, other enterprise tools) and framework
  • Plan and review the test scripts suite and its coverage setup by the technical test team
  • Document automation test plans in line with the department's Automation Test Strategy and Guardrails
  • Assist the Enterprise Testing and Quality Assurance section and other teams with testing activities, framework upliftment, training, test tool consolidation and transition as required this may include peer reviews, walk throughs
  • Provide feedback/reports on estimates of testing effort and progress suitable for project management and planning activities
  • Liaise with Business Analysts, System Analysts, Architects and Business Subject Matter Experts to clarify intended system behaviour and supporting business processes
  • Work with various testing methodologies including Waterfall and Agile

Required Skills and Experience
Demonstrated experience (8+years) as a Technical Test Architect/Manager, including:

  • Programming/scripting experience
  • Significant experience with testing automation tools (Selenium, TestNG, junit, Appium, TOSCA)
  • Experience working in CI/CD environment
  • Experience in mobile automation and API automation
  • Experience with Test Management tools
  • Proven knowledge and experience working with various testing methodologies including Waterfall and Agil
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in agile teams
  • Ability to set direction for test automation and implement the enterprise automation test strategy
  • Delivery focused, demonstrated track record of seeing projects through to completion
  • Ability to solve problems independently and in timely manner
  • Attention to details and quality focus with enterprise vision

Qualifications

Mandatory

  • High level of capability with a range of test automation tools and languages, such as TOSCA, VBScript/NET, Selenium, Java, Rest Assured, Maven and SoapUI, Java, SQL, HTML, and other languages
  • ISTQB Advanced Test Manager Certificate or equivalent, or relevant practical experience
  • ISTQB Foundation Agile Extension Certificate or equivalent, or relevant practical experience
  • ISTQB Advanced Level Agile Technical Tester or equivalent, or relevant practical experience
  • ISTQB Advanced Level Test Automation Engineer or equivalent, or relevant practical experience
  • ISTQB Foundation Level Mobile Application Testing or equivalent, or relevant practical experience
  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD practices

Desirable

  • Certification in automation tools
