General/Operations Manager
- up to $150K+s

  • Macquarie Park location
An extremely challenging yet fulfilling position is available to work for a forward moving, Not for Profit legal organisation.

You will be managing the entire operations including working with the Board in terms of implementing strategy, managing complex stakeholder relationships, and building and improving on a multifaceted structure with consistent growth being the end goal along with continued operational management.


Driving new business and promoting the organisation will always be at the forefront along with liaising with project partners, board members, regulators, clients, and other internal and external participants.

We are not seeking a Lawyer as such as you will not be practicing law, however legal experience is a must.

Someone who is degree qualified in Business or Law and has worked previously in a Legal or Professional services environment where your prior commercial/corporate skills and strong entrepreneurial mindset was utilised for the greater good.

A passionate leader is what we need first and foremost along with a collaborative and curious manner combined with leading a small team consisting of Lawyers, Paralegals and University students.


WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delivering the firm's growth strategy and measuring performance
  • Managing the firm's infrastructure (IT, Property & Workplace, Finance) in conjunction with external providers
  • Ensuring all risk assessment and compliance for the Firm including best practice and continued development
  • Financial management and reporting
  • General implementation of marketing initiatives
  • Manage continued professional development for the Firm
  • Engage with the management team and utilise inhouse platforms to identify and improve upon processes, implement changes, and encourage collaboration between departments
  • Recruitment of staff end to end, onboarding of new staff including inductions and orientations and performance management
  • Liaise with external IT providers, software maintenance and troubleshoot IT issues
  • Facilities management
  • Previous experience with legal matter management systems

WHAT DO I NEED TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN

  • Degree qualified, ideally in Business or Law
  • Experience working in a law firm/legal essential. Professional services background may be considered
  • Demonstrated commercial and business acumen
  • Able to drive business development, growth and relationships
  • Excellent attention to detail and demonstrated ability to work to multiple projects
  • Having the ability to promote or advocate for an organisation's goals
  • Strong ambition, initiative, and an entrepreneurial mindset to drive change and challenge the status quo
  • You will be an experienced leader who has previously built and managed high performing teams
  • Deadline driven, ability to liaise on all levels confidently, internally and externally
  • Polished communication skills both written and verbal
  • Strong IT set in terms of software
