  • As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in improving the lives of our clients by assessing, planning, and implementing effective occupational therapy interventions.     Tasks and Responsibilities

    Assessing and Diagnosing: Assess, implement, and manage client supports in accordance with best practices.

    Treatment Planning: Creating individualised therapy plans, setting goals, and monitoring progress.

    Providing Therapy: Utilising therapeutic techniques to support child.

    Educating and Counselling: Offering guidance and support to children and their families.

    Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records, including evaluations and treatment documentation.

    Collaboration: Working closely with other healthcare providers for comprehensive care.

    Professional Development: Staying current with research and participating in ongoing education.

    Compliance and Regulation: Adhering to ethical guidelines and regulatory requirements.

    Community Outreach: Engaging with the community to promote awareness and education.

    Essential criteria

  • Bachelor of Health Science (Occupational Therapist) or equivalent
  • Membership of Occupational Therapy Australia / Registration with Occupational Therapy Board of Australia and registration with AHPRA
  • Clinical experience working with young children with delays and moderate to severe disabilities.
  • Experience in administering formal & standardised assessments.
  • Experience in setting goals and implementing sound evidence-based therapy techniques across a diverse range of disorders.
  • Experience developing and implementing individual intervention programs with families and other professionals using a family centred approach.
  • Current Driver's License
  • Working with Children Check
  • NDIS Worker Screening check or willing to obtain.
  • Desirable criteria

  • Medicare Provider Number
  • Accredited short courses/Certification to run relevant courses for children, parents, or educators.
  • Current First Aid certificate
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training
  • Eligibility to obtain a Medicare provider number.
  • Experience working with clients from CALD background.
  • Commencing salary: $100, $116,244.00 per annum + 11% superannuation per annum.

    This position has been identified as a Child-Related position under Child Protection laws in NSW. To be eligible to apply, you are required to provide Council with a valid Working with Children Check Number.

    You may be required to undertake background checks, as relevant to the position for which you have applied.

    You will be required to undertake background checks, including a Qualification Check, Working with Children Check, Medical Declaration and a Functional Test as relevant to the position for which you have applied.
