About the role:


As the Strategic Change Specialist, you will identify impacts of organisation change to the workforce as derived from the delivery of people programs and capital projects.

You will develop strategies and solutions to ensure the correct balance of workforce to change requirements are in place to meet current and future business needs.

You will work closely with the HR Business Partners to advise on change across the People Program and also supervise and advise a small team of contract change consultants across the organisation to ensure a structured and consistent methodology in the provision of change management expertise to strategic organisation change projects.


  • Provide strategic change advice to the business and analyse impacts of organisation change on the workforce resulting from the proposed delivery of people programs and enterprise projects.
  • Develop workforce scenario plans and strategy maps to identify areas of over and under capacity, in conjunction with business leaders and HR Business teams that directly relate to organisational change resulting from program/project delivery.
  • Ensure workforce planning needs are integrated with the strategic program/project fiveyear pipeline planning processes.
  • Strategic consulting to provide advice and guidance to the organisation and delivery teams on change management framework/best practice providing processes, templates and supporting tools in alignment with the EPMO program/project life cycle framework.
  • Guide, coach and assist program/project delivery teams on change management and embedding change processes.
  • Work with the HR Business Partners to build change capability and coach and guide on critical people programs requiring change knowledge.

  • Experience in effectively dealing with future human resource issues as a result of organisation change impacting on the role, skills and cost of the workforce into the future.
  • Extensive experience in change management at a program level in a large, complex organisation, and experience in developing and leading a team of specialists.
  • Previous exposure to structured Change Management using established methodologies, and an understanding of organisational people management processes.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, and the ability to deliver effective change management strategies for programs of work across a diverse and fast paced environment.
  • Ability to identify people change risks and issues, and the development of effective solutions.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to structure, engage and present information professionally, and engage with the Unitywater Board and executive team.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Change Management, Project Management or related.
