Payroll Officer


As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and timely for our employees in compliance with Australian payroll regulations.

You should have at least 2+ years of payroll processing experience in Australia and be familiar with payroll software used in Australia.

You should have a proven ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.


Responsibilities:


  • Conduct leave audits, with a focus on long service leave calculations, to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company policies.
  • Interpret multiple awards to accurately calculate employee entitlements, including leave, overtime, and penalty rates.
  • Perform backpay calculations to ensure employees receive any unpaid entitlements in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Reconcile superannuation contributions to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and employee contracts.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to streamline payroll processes.
  • Maintain uptodate knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices in payroll processing in Australia.
  • Assist with adhoc payrollrelated tasks, such as preparing reports and responding to external audit requests.
  • Maintain accurate and organized payroll records in accordance with company policies and relevant legislation.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to employees, responding to payroll inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.

Preferred Experience:


  • Experience reading and interpreting contracts and agreements related to payroll processing.
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail in a fastpaced work environment.
  • Medium to high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience with complex formulas and functions, data manipulation, and formatting.
  • Knowledge of payrollrelated legislation, such as the Fair Work Act, Taxation Administration Act, and Superannuation Guarantee legislation.
  • Understanding of payroll software used in Australia, such as Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with internal stakeholders and provide exceptional customer service to employees.
