Stantec has been a trusted partner within the Logan Water Partnership for over a decade, providing environmental and design services for water infrastructure projects for the City of Logan.
Based in the Logan Water Partnership office in Beenleigh, QLD, we currently have an opportunity for an experienced Ecologist to join the partnership.
Day To Day Tasks Would Involve
- Provide ecological advice during project development to minimise the environmental impacts of infrastructure projects.
- Deliver on environmental surveys and impact assessments of terrestrial ecosystems, specifically flora and fauna, biodiversity and habitat
- Prepare environmental management and approvals documentation such as species management programs and protected plant reporting
- Deliver environmental analyses, mapping and highquality technical report writing
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary and cohesive team to successfully deliver environmental outcomes
To Be Successful For This Role You'll Need
- Tertiary qualifications in botany/ ecology/ environmental science or related field
- Identification skills in Queensland flora, fauna and ecological communities
- 5 to 10 years post graduate experience within a similar role, ideally within a consulting, construction, or regulatory environment
- Queensland Regional Ecosystem and Biocondition training (or working towards) would be an advantage
- Suitably Qualified Person to conduct protected plants survey
- GIS experience, including use of field collection mapping tools; strong MS Office skills
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship, communication, and team building skills
- Driver's licence essential, 4wd experience and accreditation preferable
- An ability to interpret and carry out instructions while ensuring safety is at the forefront of all operations
Physical Requirements
- Position includes both office and fieldwork and the applicant must be physically able to stand and work in the field including in remote areas for extended periods of time.
