    About Mental Health First Aid International

    Mental Health First Aid International (t/a MHFA Australia) is a global health promotion charity dedicated to the provision of evidence-based education programs that increase mental health literacy, reduce stigma, and help people develop the skills they need to encourage people to seek professional help.

    We support a global movement across 30 countries of organisations dedicated to mental health literacy and early intervention to reduce the impact of psychological distress and mental health problems in families, communities, educational settings, and workplaces.


    About the role:


    The Executive Director will be responsible for leading our new International Programs, Research and Evaluation, Curriculum and Quality team, providing dynamic, hands-on leadership during a time of advancement on the national and international fronts.

    The successful candidate will be an experienced clinician with a proven track record in leading large and complex multidisciplinary result orientated health service teams and will have a deep understanding of the Australian mental health and suicide prevention sectors.

    A strategic thinker they will develop and execute plans focused on international growth, engagement and communication in addition to implementing a quality management framework.

    The ability to expand in-house mental health expertise will also be key.

    About you:
    Masterful at building strong relationships and a thriving team culture in a fast paced environment you will also be:
    Experienced in mental health research including a Ph D or equivalent qualifications in mental health and/or suicide prevention.
    Committed to lived experience in service design and delivery.
    Have significant experiencing working with Boards and Directors including a related qualification.
    Experienced in the delivery of training, education and continuous professional development services.
    Able to demonstrate a deep understanding of quality management and experience in implementing quality frameworks.
