North Eastern Melbourne Integrated Cancer Service (NEMICS)
The Victorian Integrated Cancer Services (VICS) are Victoria's cancer services improvement network. They build relationships between healthcare providers and other cancer care stakeholders.

Together they develop, implement and evaluate initiatives that improve the way Victoria's health services provide care and support to people affected by cancer.

The North Eastern Melbourne Integrated Cancer Service (NEMICS) main office is based at Austin Health. Member health services include Austin Health, Eastern Health, Mercy Hospital for Women, and Northern Health.

An exciting new opportunity exists for an innovative and dedicated
NEMICS Quality and Strategy Manager.


Position Purpose


This cancer reform leadership role will deliver quality, strategy, and program evaluation initiatives aligned with cancer policy, national standards, and performance monitoring.


Key functions of the role include:

  • Cancer services quality management
  • lead the Cancer Services Performance Indicator audit, development of cancer activity and performance reports, monitoring of Optimal Care Pathway indicators, Statewide Cancer Performance Indicator Platform including interpretation and dissemination of findings. Complete activity and performance reporting for the NEMICS annual report.
  • Strategic planning work with the NEMICS Manager and member health service leaders in the development of strategic planning, setting priorities and measures, business case development, and reporting.
  • Program evaluation identify and report on the data and information required to measure the impact of NEMICS program activities.
  • Project management utilises project management skills to deliver timely quality, strategy, and program evaluation activities and reporting. Projects includes the annual report and supporting the implementation of cancer policy frameworks.
  • NEMICS program leadership assist the NEMICS Manager with activities including governance, program management, human resource management, financial management, funding submissions, NEMICS representation, and reporting, as requested.
