We have an exciting opportunity to work as a Medico-Legal Manager and Privacy Officer in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of the Legal and Risk.

We are seeking a skilled and energetic Medico-Legal Manager and Privacy Officer who possess a passion for person centred care.

Selection Criteria:


  • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent's Health Australia
  • At least 4 years' experience as a lawyer; preferably in the areas of insurance/health litigation with demonstrated experience managing complex and sensitive issues, a sound understanding of privacy, and complex medico-legal issues especially those related to medical litigation.
  • Substantial knowledge of the challenges which arise within a complex health care environment and a sound understanding of the NSW public health system and its principal functions and inter-relationships.
  • High level understanding of integrated risk management principles and experience in the concepts and processes of clinical risk management and process improvement within a quality framework.
  • Strong relationship building capabilities and influencing skills with the ability to communicate, coach, motivate, consult, and negotiate with senior managers and diverse stakeholder groups including consumers.
  • High level knowledge of quality systems, clinical governance and planning. 7. High level verbal and written communication skills which includes the ability to analyse and synthesise data, and use it to drive improvement through the production of presentations, reports and submissions.
  • Legal qualifications including current NSW legal practicing certificate.
