About the role:


We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of the Emergency Department.

The ED Administration Manager has supervisory responsibilities for the ED Administration Team.

Such responsibilities will include roster management, performance management, staff training and support, leave planning, mandatory training compliance and staff recruitment.

The position manages and monitors all electronic registrations of all patients presenting to the ED.

It requires a strong focus on customer service provisioning, efficiency and effectiveness in driving exceptional performance to achieve service, revenue, funding and patient as well as clinical data accuracy related goals and targets.

The role ensures resource optimization by implementing change management processes to support system, process and people change.

Selection Criteria:


  • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent's Health Australia
  • Proven ability in maintaining and supervising a 24/7 rostering system and management of staff in a frontline customer service and data collection setting.
  • Strong ability in coordinating change management processes, managing ongoing staff change related issues and driving team performance to achieve service goals.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, team building and customer service skills, including the demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment and liaise with a wide variety of key stakeholders including health service executives, clinicians, and external service providers.
  • Thorough appreciation of the importance of accurate and complete data collection, data integrity and audit compliance.
  • Ability to meet deadlines while working in a busy and fast-paced frontline setting with competing priorities.
  • Working knowledge of budget, funding and revenue raising initiatives in a hospital environment.
