About the role

VMCH Carer Support Program has a vacancy for a Carer Engagement Officer to join the Metro team.

Reporting to the Manager of Carer Support, this role is responsible for developing, planning, and delivering a range of carer programs to promote the well-being of carers.

This will include coordinating a range of social events, day trips, guest speakers and leisure & lifestyle activities to provide individuals respite from their caring roles.

The carers supported vary in ages, including young carers.

This is a part-time role working 30.4 hours per week with flexibility to work weekends if required.

About you


Ideally you will be experienced in Carer Support programs and have a working knowledge of Carer Services, you may hold a tertiary qualification - Cert IV Leisure & Lifestyle or Disability or Community however lived experience will be high regarded.

You'll be skilled in developing and delivering innovative, engaging programs and events and building relationships with community stakeholders.

Skills and experience required

Outstanding customer focus and ability to meet individual carers needs.
Experience in facilitating a diverse range of events and activities.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal skills and stakeholder management
Ability to build strong effective working relationships and partnerships with stakeholders (internally and externally)
Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing tasks and priorities.
Ability to work across multiple teams.
A current Victorian Driver's License
Level 2 First aid and Current CPR
Ability to work outside of a standard business hour while assisting and delivering programs for carers
