About the Opportunity:


Qenos is seeking for the industry's strongest
technical and mechanical minds to become a part of and contribute to our
Mechanical Reliability Team.


Reporting to the Polythene Mechanical Reliability Team Leader, this role will form part of a team of specialist tradespeople who each have responsibility for safely
maintaining all plant equipment, ensuring
inspection and testing programs are established and implemented effectively.

Prime accountability for this role is to ensure the safe running of the plant and absence of
equipment downtimes due to mechanical issues.


Other key responsibilities include:

  • Act as a technical authority to
    confirm risk assessments and
    priority setting:
  • Establish appropriate maintenance regimes and interval setting (
    preventative & predictive maintenance programs)
  • Provide a depth of predictive
    maintenance skills for plant equipment, including
    fixed and rotating equipment.
  • Perform
    Root Cause Analysis of equipment failures and define improvement actions
  • Take part in improvement teams within assigned area of responsibility to
    improve equipment performance of safety measures.
  • Be comfortable when w
    orking at heights or in confined spaces:
  • Be tenacious when problems arise to meet operational and business requirements, including
    SH&E, Reliability performance, plant efficiency, and fixed costs.
  • Participate in work planning and goods issue including the use of
    SAP

Coordinate Contractors and Apprentices

  • Maintain and update
    maintenance information systems.

Who are we looking for?:


First and foremost, successful applicants will have
a strong safety focus and awareness, and must also possess
Trade Qualifications such as
Certificate 3 or 4 in Mechanical Engineering and have
completed their apprenticeship.

Further education and competencies in condition monitoring are also highly regarded, as will experience with RCA.

_ Please note:

This is a day-based role, which includes a standard 38 hours week on a 4-day per week roster, and overtime when required.

However as the plant operates 24/7 there will be instances of being called upon outside of normal working hours (managed under a rotating call-in roster).
